About Snom - The Company

Snom Technology AG, a German firm, was founded in 1996 by Dr. Christian Stredicke who studied IT and Business at the Technical University of Berlin. After obtaining his degree he was employed at the Institute for Technical IT as an assistant lecturer and at Arthur D. Little business consultancy. Christian has many years experience in software development and hardware design. He is also the author of numerous publications concerning VoIP technology.

In 1998 Snom started development in the area of mobile technology and in 1999 developed the first series of snom phones using the H.323 protocol. In 2000 the snom 100 was awarded “Best of Show” at the CeBIT (Centrum der Büro-und Informationstechnik; German for “Centre of Office and Information technology”) for their work in Implementation of the first SIP stack Definition of the plug-and-play mechanism used for snom telephones.

Every year since then Snom has added various titles to their Awards cupboard including:

What is the snom 370

The snom 370 is the VoIP phone for the business user who need immediate access to all of their important information.

snom Headsets HS-MM2 and HS-MM3

The snom headset range have been updated with a new look, improved ergonomics, and usability has been simplified.

There are two models available, the snom HS-MM3 headset is made specifically for the snom 300 phone where as the HS-MM2 headset is for use with the snom 320, snom 360, and snom 370 phones.

Headsets allow their users a much wider range of movement than possible with a telephone receiver. This is a worthwhile investment for anyone who spends considerable time on the phone in an office, home office, or a call center.

The new snom headsets have one ear pad which can be worn on either ear. They are sturdy and offer good wearing comfort.

The microphone features advanced noise-cancellation so that you do not need to compromise on quality.

snom Expansion Module V2.0

With the snom 320, 360 and 370 Expansion Module, your snom is now fitted with the best features to meet the demanding requirements of executive and administrative staff who require high call coverage and flexibility from communication systems.

Using your snom with the snom Expansion Module means call coverage and management is even more easy and efficient.

With the built-in web interface on your phone, you can easily configure each function key according to your preferences.

The keys of your expansion module can be programmed for Line, Destination, Intercom, Park Orbit, or Voice Recorder mapping. Line or call state, e.g. ringing, on-hold, connected call etc., will be indicated by the LEDs associated with each key.

 

Version 2 of the Expansion Module allows you to daisy-chain up to 3 expansion modules which means you can use up to 138 Buttons (3 x 42 + 1 x 12) with LED’s.

snom DECT repeater

The snom DECT repeater can be deployed when there is a need to extend the range of the snom M3 telephone network, increase limited coverage or improve reception in remote areas.

Not all repeaters are created equal so in order to maximize improvements to the M3 DECT telephone’s operational ability (whether increased range, improved reception, or both), it was necessary for snom to create the snom DECT repeater.

The snom DECT repeater is designed in accordance with the DECT standard. It is suitable for a use in residential, business and public DECT applications based on the GAP profile. The snom DECT repeater has two internal antennas and can be used to double the effective range of a DECT Base Station.

It is possible to register up to six repeaters to a single base station.

Furthermore the snom DECT repeater uses a new, automatic registration method. With this new method, the repeater automatically seeks and acquires the DECT/GAP base station that emits the most powerful signal. For the end user this means that the repeater installation has been simplified to Plug-and-Play.
